Dr. Mohamed Zaghoo

I am a faculty scientist at the US laboratory for Laser Energetics and an assistant professor at the Hajim school of Engineering at the University of Rochester. My research interests transverse the excursive boundaries of planetary science,  high pressure physics, and laser fusion energy. I develop new analytical & experimental methods to understand the interplay between the thermophysical properties of matter and planetary or high energy density phenomena. I am also interested in the nexus of science/energy policy and new technologies.

I obtained my MA in physics & PhD in Applied physics from Harvard where I held several national fellowships from NASA and Goldman Sachs. Prior to which, I had multiple research appointments at MIT, Stanford, CERN and Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics.
